I am an experienced carer within a variety of social settings, including elderly care, supporting elderly residents in their own homes. For the last 6 years I have been supporting family with childcare, but alongside this have set up and run a Befriending Service and Lunch Club for older residents in the community.
I am supportive, empathic and calm, as well as being non-judgemental, so that older people locally treat me as a 'go to' person. I enjoy getting to know people and encouraging people to focus on what they can achieve, rather than the presenting limitations.
