Hello my name is Sarah, I am an English live In carer with 15 yrs experience. I have all necessary documentation including dbs and certificates. Please be good enough to read my personal statement (below) which will give you a general overview of my experience and interests.
Thank you.

PERSONAL STATEMENT.

Hello my name is Sarah, and I am 46 years old with plenty of experience within the caring profession. I consider myself to be very fortunate to be living in France, and to have the opportunity to commute back and forth regularly to England.

I have been a live in carer for over 15 years, and not only had varied clientele with specific needs, but have gained tremendous insight and knowledge of 'care', which has broadened my experience, forming a better awareness and understanding of people and the job in hand.

Being a live in carer can be challenging, but it is a vocation with tremendous reward. Achieving results, no matter the situation, brings job satisfaction, relevancy, and above all huge smiles to client and carer.

As a carer I aim to focus on the whole person, an holistic approach and a firm believer 'food is thy medicine' and in my opinion this can not or should not be overlooked. I like to prepare good wholesome food, plenty of fresh produce when possible, as this promotes 'wellbeing' both mentally and physically and happiness, particularly if a person has a debilitating or restrictive condition.

I try to attain a positive and optimistic manner and approach with all clients, sometimes focusing on an individuals weakness or negativity, particularly mentally ie; depression, trying to break barriers by talking, listening and having an understanding (empathetic) nature.

Maintaining dignity at all times plays an active role in my caring position, ensuring my client retains their self respect and pride is crucial in all aspects of their life. I always like to think of a member of my own family, whether they be young or old!

I consider myself to be a confident and competent person, giving reassurance and constructive advice when needed, whilst promoting and maintaining my clients independence and decision making at all times.

I really enjoy meeting people, it can be fascinating. Caring allows me to meet people from all walks of life, just listening to peoples life stories can be thrilling and very moving. I have had the privilege from some of my clients whom have divulged personal, sometimes sensitive information about themselves. This tells me I have gained their trust by forming a solid working relationship with them, and I personally find this a crucial element in the caring profession.

My interests and hobbies are varied, but I consider my main love and passion in life are my dogs, most of whom have been poorly treated and abandoned.
Having animals allows me to enjoy outdoor living and space, plenty of walking, enjoying the fresh air which all helps to maintain a happy healthy lifestyle! Yoga and meditation is also something I like to partake in, particularly if I need to unwind and relax.... to recharge the batteries!

Cooking plays a major part in my life and exploring different cultural foods and produce excites my imagination and taste buds! Travelling has not only educated me in more ways than one, but has sharpened my awareness regarding ethnic cuisine. I thrive on diversity, enabling me to adapt to client needs and expectations.

Art fascinates me and having come from a renowned town St. Ives, Cornwall, acclaimed for its famous artists and sculptors in the mid 60's, I continue to remain intrigued and drawn to many different avenues within todays art world.

My current hobby is my house renovation which has incorporated interior design, and despite the pitfalls of owning a 400 yr old farm house, it has been very exciting and rewarding.

Music soothes the mind particularly classical and also heightens ones soul especially Opera. These are areas of my life I wish to make more room for, and it would be a pleasure and an education to meet a client who shares the same interest such as mine.

Finally, I have obtained the necessary certificates which are in accordance with todays care industry regulations and guidelines for example; Manual Handling, SOVA, a portable online DBS, Public Liability Insurance, current CV and clean driving license is readily available for further information.

I do hope you will find me a highly suited, valid candidate for this specific post and very much look forward to hearing from you in the near future.

Kind regards,

Sarah Brewer.
