Whilst not on my resume for not counting as professional experience, I have, due to circumstances of life, gained experience in caring for the disabled and the elder.
In December 2005 my mom suffered a stroke leaving her hemiplegic. She has since regained her independence but for several years she relied on others on a daily basis. As such, during my high school years I was her primary care taker for most of the day. Till this day my mum still relies on me for various needs and tasks.
Furthermore in more recent years both my grandmother and my grandfather have had health issues leaving them requiring around-the-clock care for periods of time. A task bestowed upon me.
While I would have preferred not to find myself in this position, I now feel like taking care of those in need is something that is very rewarding to me.
