I have SVQ 3 in Social Care and have been working for the past 16 years in social care with elderly, adults and children such as mental health issues such as paranoia-schizophrenia and elderly with dementia. I have worked with people with bi-polar disorder, Alzheimer and challenging behaviour. I assist in administration duties and participate in induction training to new staff and attend care plans reviews. I support people to make informed choices, and improve their communication and social skills, whilst promoting individuality, rights, responsibilities, identity and self- esteem. I have learnt to be patient, compassionate and non-judgemental. Understanding a person's behaviour can be crucial and involves having good communication skills, patience, and taking time to know the person you are dealing with.
I’m an approachable, enthusiastic and friendly person who is easy to work with. I am able to work within professional boundaries, and be empathetic while treating everyone equally.
