I have been working as a support worker for just over 13 years. Never dreamed I would or could be a carer. En though I cared for my dad during his end of life period. My father was bed ridden for about year and a half. He had stroke which left him completely paralysed. I stumble into the caring field when I was searching flexible working hours around my kids. I am a very caring individual who understands that each individual is different and have their own needs and goals. I practice person centred approach. I am a good listener. I understand that it is not just about the individuals illness but the whole person, their goals/ambition, needs, respecting their privacy, confidentiality, etc. I am willing to learn anything that I need to enable anyone I support or care for to liver a better more fulfilled life
