I recently started a new and exciting career in health and social care as a Support Worker in a secure hospital for people with Autism. In a short space of time, I have established and developed some very friendly and positive relationships with service users with challenging behaviours which has been extremely rewarding for me and shows I have the necessary personality, values, attitude, skills and motivation to provide a safe, supportive and enabling environment for your service users.
I completed my MAYBO conflict management training as part of my induction and will complete my Care Certificate shortly.
I am also willing to to study for whatever qualifications necessary to develop my skills and knowledge in the hope of proving myself and finding opportunities to progress.
I have a compassionate, caring, sensitive and patient nature and am flexible, positive, happy, outgoing, friendly and understanding person. I have excellent people and communication skills (verbal and written) with a talent for being able to relate to people from a wide variety of backgrounds and form positive and supportive relationships with people at all levels.
I work equally well alone or as part of a team, can cope with the physical and emotional demands of the job, apply health and safety guidelines, have the ability to remain calm and function effectively under pressure and perform domestic duties efficiently.
Outside of work, I worked as a trustee of a charity for people with disabilities, was part of Rotary and give to charities through monthly subscriptions.
