As a live-in carer, my day begins by making sure the person I support feels safe, comfortable, and ready for the day ahead. I help with morning routines such as washing, dressing, preparing breakfast, and ensuring medication is taken correctly. Throughout the day, I provide companionenvironment so the person feels valued and supported.
Every day is different, but my priority is always to provide compassionate, person-centred care that promotes dignity, comfort, and well being. Being a live-in carer means becoming a trusted presence in someone’s home and helping them live safely, happily, and with confidence in their daily life.
I consider myself to be an adept, individual who- wants to work in any environment ,to encourage rehabilitation and for individuals to be well enough to live the best quality of life possible despite what they are going through.
Respect and diversity are some of the aspects l consider important when dealing with clients, because l value when that is done for me. I take communication as one of the important tools in care as it helps the client ,relatives and the carer to meet the goals together.
Lastly had the privilege to work in different care sightings ,worked in nursing homes, did live in care and trained as a mental health nurse and worked in Hospitals as an NHS nurse. All these different sectors have helped me to understand and treat people as individuals
ship, emotional support, and assistance with household tasks including cooking, cleaning, laundry, and shopping as requested .
I encourage independence wherever possible while always being available to help with mobility, personal care, appointments, or activities. I take time to listen, have conversations, and create a calm and positive
