PERSONAL PROFILE: I am a team player with excellent communication skills and qualified up to a degree level in social care. I possess valuable experience of working with both children and adults of working age, ensuring that they are cared for in a happy, safe and stimulating environment. I am passionate about providing first class care to service users under my supervision. Apart from contributing to the processes and strategies which enhance standards of quality care, I feel that my greatest strengths are firstly my ability to understand and meet the needs of individual clients, their families and or carers. Secondly having a clear understanding of the importance of confidentiality, and thirdly being able to provide a stimulating, caring and consistent environment for service user’s recovery and independence.
I feel that I have an enthusiastic attitude and work hard to ensure good practice is demonstrated across all areas within my role, from planning quality activities, to communicating with all service user, families/carers and liaising with other staff and organisations.. I am presently looking for a position that offers great training and long term career development opportunities. Over the last ten years gained substantial experience in both voluntary and. statutory sectors, in working with people of different needs plus my academic qualifications in Social Policy and Administration. This covers Domestic violence, Children’s Right, Family, mental health, learning disability and Housing. I have experience supporting with venerable adults, end- of- life care, learning disabilities and patients/service users subject to criminal proceedings.
I have also volunteered at Kingston Churches and Homeless (KCAH) a registered charity set up by the 53 churches in the Royal Borough of Kingston, as volunteer Support Housing Officer., my main responsibility was to maintain and update housing waiting list for women facing domestic violence. I also participated in providing advocacy, informal counselling and practice assistance to ensure tenants were aware of their rights and entitlements and resources of help. I feel competent in resolving conflict and challenging situations in an appropriate manner.
