Job Description

We’re looking for a live-in carer to join an existing two-person care team supporting my fiancé, a 35-year-old man with an undiagnosed muscular disability. He uses an electric wheelchair and requires 24/7 assistance, with two carers living in the home and working together day-to-day. All moving and handling tasks are done as a pair, but there will also be times when you'll be one-on-one with him, providing companionship or support during quieter moments.

We’re looking for someone to start ASAP and ideally stay until the end of September, with the possibility of this becoming a long-term role for the right person.

The job involves supporting him in all aspects of daily life—from complex personal care to housekeeping and companionship. He’s confident, social, and values his independence, so flexibility is essential. There's no rigid routine—he lives life on his own terms.

While you’ll be on-call during the day, you’ll also have plenty of downtime when not actively assisting. We work as a team and always aim to keep the environment calm, respectful, and collaborative.

The home includes a friendly German Shepherd, so being comfortable around dogs is important.
