ADMINISTRATOR – Short-term contract– extension possible/open to job share

Personal Assistant to support a disabled man at work in central London (Westminster)

You must:

  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Have knowledge, experience and ability to use standard office computer software proficiently, including Windows (10 and 11) and Microsoft Office, word-processing, spreadsheets and databases as well as other equipment such as laptops and overhead projectors
  • Be able to organise and plan effectively
  • Be familiar with working in an office environment
  • Maintain trust and confidentiality whilst working and all policies of the place of work including those on confidentiality must also be always observed.
  • You will require a clean DBS, be a resident in the UK and ideally be willing to undergo further security checks

 

Shifts are: 1 day at (approximately 7.4 hours) per week starting at 11am and finishing around 7pm. The workday will either be a Tuesday or Wednesday (to be decided at interview) and confirmed at the start of the contract. There is a 30-minute lunch break and 2 X 15-minute breaks in the morning and afternoon. These are agreed at the start of each day and will need to fit into the day’s schedule

Salary: £17 per hour plus holiday pay (holidays must coincide with those of the PA User) and pension contributions where applicable.

Your role is to:

  • Assisting with taking on/off jackets; scarfs, etc
  • Opening doors
  • Carrying bags
  • Helping with equipment, setting up and operating laptop computers, overhead projectors, books, files
  • Note-taking
  • Any activity that requires manual dexterity and/or physical strength
  • Provide administrative support e.g., diary management, arranging meetings, take notes, etc.
  • Filing, answering the phone, photocopying and sending faxes and e-mails
  • Fact-finding
  • At lunchtime to heat up food or to buy from a local café/shop, wash any dishes and throughout the day to prepare tea and light drinks
  • Assistance in the bathroom as and when required throughout the day (no transfers necessary)

 

There is no overtime available at this placement, so it is your responsibility with the PA User to manage the start and finish times.
