Job Description

Joining a team of live-in carers, offering a three-week on, six-week off (ish) contract with a two-week probationary period. To join a family home looking after Beryl, who lives with dementia and limited mobility; she's not aggressive or violent but sometimes gets confused. She needs a little help getting ready for the day and benefits from companionship. She likes to get out and shop and needs supervision, as she likes to assist with cooking. She's devoted to her husband of 65 years, George. George is 92 years young, has limited mobility and needs help with personal care. George is awaiting a urology op but manages to get to the loo most times. He has carpal tunnel, so his dexterity is not brilliant.  

We're looking for someone who can manage two oldies, ensure that they get their meds and maintain their independence at home. Ability to speak clearly understood English is a must, as they are both hard of hearing, and a driver is preferred. Cooking simple English meals is also important.

Use of a car is provided; an own double bedroom and bathroom are offered too. The family live away from Bedford and try to visit and assist at least once a week. A day carer pops in on a Friday to offer respite, and a cleaner and hairdresser are also regularly supporting these two old folks.
