Female live in carer for 92 year old Gentleman in Richmond Surrey (London) with immediate effect

We require a dedicated and conscientious care assistant to live with our father and provide care for him. We are seeking a caring and compassionate individual who enjoys interacting with more mature people and assisting them with their daily living activities. Candidates must be warm and friendly, with a strong work ethic, a positive attitude and a genuine passion for providing high quality care and support. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, well-organized and have flexibility and empathy in dealing with an elderly person. The carer must be fluent in Turkish and English.

Proven experience in working with seniors, in either a paid or voluntary capacity, is essential for this role.

My father is mentally fit and very much an independent person. However, he walks with a stick and requires support when walking. He is mostly busy with his books and current affair programs on TV and stays in his own room.

This is a Full Time Role and it is extremely important to understand that the main reason it is Full Time is because we do not want dad to be alone on his own. He is well capable of taking care of his own regular showering and personal hygiene. He wakes up around 8:30 in the morning and has his breakfast usually at 9:00 to 9:30. He has a cup of coffee and biscuit around 11:00 and has his very light lunch (fruit, warm mild and a boiled egg) around 1:30. He has an afternoon nap around 15:00 for an hour or an hour and a half. When he wakes up, he would like a cup of tea and will have his dinner (this normally alternates between soup, spaghetti, rice and egg, fish and cold meat) between 7:00 and 7:30.

Therefore, the live-in carer will have quite a lot of free time at home, and, away from home.

The current carer will be at hand for handover. Sons will always be there for any advice/assistance.

Responsibilities:

• Perform housekeeping tasks, such as dusting, vacuuming and changing bed linens.
• Do the laundry and ironing.
• Liaise with GP, hospital, specialists when sons are out of the country.
• Take him for walks in front of the building.
• Cook healthy meals as listed above.
• Take delivery of food. This is ordered through internet by daughters-in-law.
• Provide companionship especially during mealtimes.
• Keep sons fully informed of any important changes.

Details of Living arrangements

The Live-in carer will have her own room in a spacious 3 bedroom/1 bathroom flat in a secure building (in a private estate) with estate concierge in Richmond, London. The flat overlooks the gardens at the front and back of the building. High speed internet (fibre) is available. All utility and council tax bills are paid for. Of course, food etc will be available to be shared by the carer.

Salary & Time off

Salary - This will include approximately 4 weeks paid Holiday. Weekly Salary: £550 - £600 depending on experience.

Time off – The above-mentioned holiday period must be taken one week at a time (unless replacement can be found for a longer period). Time-off must be agreed in advance with the family and a replacement carer. Apart from the holiday period, the live-in carer is expected to be there every night during the night.
