Job Description

One of our main carers has left due to illness, so we are now looking for a private live-in carer to look after my wife, to start from early May (ideally 9th or similar) for a 4+ week booking, and potential for similar repeat bookings to alternate with our other main live-in carer.

The role includes providing full-time care and company for my wife (in her sixties but had a stroke over ten years ago), light housekeeping, including weekdays and weekends, and with covered 2-hour rest breaks daily.

Must have existing care training AND experience, DBS-checked, and excellent English language skills. No significant medical expertise is needed (pills only), but you need to provide active assistance with manual transfers using Sara Steddy and help with wheelchair and mobility, plus showering and dressing/undressing, and going to bed. Housekeeping to include light cleaning and laundry, plus preparing breakfast/meals/drinks, etc., for my wife.

You would be living in a warm family home in a nice village close to Cirencester. Own double bedroom/sink/loo, and use of the main wetroom, so mainly just you. Ability to drive is relevant if you want to go out during breaks due to location, either with your own car, but we also have a wheelchair accessible vehicle if needed.

Competitive salary rate open to discussion. The start date is early May. Longer booking periods are available if desired and interest in further repeat bookings during the year thereafter, assuming everyone is happy.
