Job Description

We are looking for a live-in carer who lives in or near Eastbourne, to care for a couple, four days a week, Monday to Thursday. 

Dates care is required are 15/12/2025-19/12/2025, and more dates are available in the new year. Recommended rate is £140 per day.

The client has Alzheimer's, poor mobility, cognitive impairment, STM loss, anxiety and some delusional thinking and can become paranoid as it gets dark. His sleep pattern can be unusual, and there may be night calls. 

He will require help washing, bathing, showering, dressing, dental hygiene, and help with toileting. He is urinary incontinent and wears pads. Medication needs to be supervised, and he will require help with feeding. Can be unsteady on his feet, needs help transferring, and can manage the stairs one at a time. There is a stair lift and stair gates at the house.

Gets ready for bed around 7.45 - 8 pm and wakes around 7.30 - 8 am.

Enjoys watching television, especially F!, tennis and James Bond.  Enjoys listening to music and the radio.  He is very sociable and likes seeing friends and going out for coffee.  The carer will be expected to tap into local dementia groups and accompany him.

Client is a social person who is kind and funny, he has a good sense of humour and likes to joke with the carer. 

His wife is self-caring and is also sociable.  She cooks most of the meals for her husband and the carer and is very helpful.

Applicants must have the right to work in the UK, up-to-date practical training, a DBS registered on the update service, and be able to provide satisfactory references.
