Hello,

We are looking for a female carer with dementia experience to look after our cheery, wonderful mother. 

Our mum is 82 years old, has Alzheimer's, vascular dementia and sciatica. She can walk but is frail and walks slowly.

The right candidate will be live-in for 14 days on a 2-week on-2-week-off basis. The position will start early February 2026.

Mum likes to be mentally stimulated and socially active when she can. We are seeking a fit, active-minded carer who can support Mum with writing, puzzles, walks outside and visiting friends. 

Key Responsibilities

• Companionship – sharing conversation and spending time together

• Personal care – assisting with bathing, dressing and, when necessary, continence support

• Helping with mobility – assistance getting around the home, wheelchair or assistance through aids

• Administering medication – according to the care plan, including record keeping

• Preparing and cooking meals

• Running errands – assisting with tasks such as shopping or picking up prescriptions and managing weekly shopping

• Wellbeing - Take her for health & beauty appointments, i.e. massages, manicures

• Social visits – taking Mum out to see her friends

• Housekeeping – Ensuring that the mum's home remains clean. Duties include - vacuuming, laundry and tidying up, etc.

We will provide accommodation in a separate bedroom

Requirements

• Female only

• You must have a full driving licence and have your own car with relevant business insurance.

• Have a minimum of 2 years of experience in dementia care

• Be able to provide 2 references, one from a current and previous employer

• Provide proof of eligibility to work in the UK

• Non-smoker
