Job Description

Live in Carer required for a Gentleman with Advanced Dementia

73 year old male who lives at home with his wife. In a very rural location in Sailsbury.

He has 2 live in carers to work together with personal care and moving and handling. All other tasks are shared out

- Like to sit and look out over the garden or on cold days to sit in the kitchen near the fire to look outside the windows
- Rests in bed a lot.

Wife is very supportive and supports with daily care. Family visit often and are also very supportive.
Uses a Hoist, Wheeled commode and shower chair. Full support needed.

End stage Alzheimer, Altered states of consciousness, Myoclonic jerks, can hallucinate, can be physically aggressive.
Doubly incontinent - Supervision when on commode
Choking risk

Carers work alongside family to assist in all medication.

Soft diet ensuring meals contain fluid to promote hydration.
The two live in carers are to support each other with break and not take the breaks at the same time so he is not alone.

Live in Carer Requirements -
Must have had 1st covid vaccine.
Speak extremely good English
Very experienced with Dementia (Advanced)
Working as a team
Work in a rural area with no shop and very little mobile signal.
Work 4 weeks or longer on a work pattern.
