Job Description

LIVE IN CARER – Swindon, Wiltshire  

(Self employed basis only for a private family) 

We are looking for a Live In Carer to provide compassionate respectful care and support to our Dad, a 94 year old man with some mobility issues.  

Duties will include: 

• Help with getting out of bed, washed/showered, dressed and other elements of personal care 
• Be on hand at night if Dad requires assistance going to the toilet 
• Helping with mobility getting around the house and up/down stairs. Stair lift in place.
• Preparing breakfast, lunch and dinner 
• Overseeing medication and reminding Dad to take his medication 
• Help with light housework, laundry, vacuuming and ironing 
• Help with grocery shopping and general errands like picking up prescriptions 
• Help with light gardening duties as Dad grows some fruit, veg and herbs (small town garden) 
• You’ll also provide companionship and a listening ear  – even just a chat over a cup of tea, playing cards or sharing moments watching favourite TV shows 

Requirements: 

• A compassionate nature and good communication skills 
• One year’s minimum experience required in a care setting or similar role 
• A full driving licence and access to a car preferable  
• The right to work in the UK and DBS check

From £550 per 7 night week to include all meals, own amenities such as bedroom and lounge with TV. Free Wi-fi.  

Travel and mileage expenses if applicable  

Flexibility over shift patterns with a second Live In Carer to be mutually agreed if required
