Job Description

Live in carer needed for gentleman 76 Parkinson disease, help with daily care, washing, dressing, assisting as walks 4 wheeler, and does exercises.

Needs meals made and cooked, he eats lots of veggie vegan dishes, mild curries, stews sometimes fish and meat roast, mince, can make up a batch for a couple of days, going for walks with him as he walks wheelchair a little bit when can, if not 'freezing' with Parkinson's and tiring so need pushchair rest way.

Has dysphasia so need to sit with when he's eating to remind of techniques (can teach, such as slow down, tongue around teeth so safe swallow) so to be with for safety, mainly someone to be with him for safety due to mobility and Parkinson's and when eating and drinking and taking tablets, we have alarmed tablet box but give on a spoon a lot as easier.

The client is a gentle, quiet man who has a very low voice and hard to communicate clearly, uses a speech card due to Parkinson's disease, he enjoys walks, crosswords, watching sport, films, travel programmes, listening and watching music DVDs especially Irish and country.
