Job Description

I'm looking for an experienced female carer to look after my cheery, wonderful mother. 

Mum is 81 years old, has advanced dementia and sciatica. She can still walk but is frail and walks slowly. We like to keep mum stimulated and active  - walks outside, visiting friends will be regular occurrences. 

The right candidate will live in on a 1-week on-1-week-off basis. 

Key responsibilities:

• Companionship – sharing conversation and spending time together
• Social visits – taking mum out to see her friends
• Personal care – assisting with bathing, dressing and, when necessary, continence support
• Helping with mobility – assistance getting around the home, wheelchair or assisted through aids
• Administering medication – according to the care plan including record keeping
• Preparing and cooking meals
• Running errands – assisting with tasks such as shopping or picking up prescriptions and managing weekly shopping
• Wellbeing - Take her for health & beauty appointments, ie massages
• Household chores – help around the home, such as basic housekeeping e.g. vacuuming, washing clothes, tidying etc.

Requirements

• You must have a full driving licence and have your own car.
• Have a minimum of 2 years of experience in dementia care
• Be able to provide x2 references one from a current and previous employer
• Provide proof of eligibility to work in the UK
• Non-smoker
