Job Description

We are looking for a kind, patient and compassionate carer to support Linda, an elderly lady living in her own home in Great Bentley, Essex.

Linda is a much-loved mother and grandmother who enjoys conversation, companionship and maintaining as much independence as possible. She is living with memory issues and, like many people, has good days and more challenging days. We are looking for someone who can provide not just practical support, but genuine warmth, reassurance and companionship.

This is an opportunity to become part of a caring family who want Linda to feel safe, respected and valued in her own home. We are looking for someone who understands that great care is about relationships, dignity and kindness as much as it is about completing tasks.

The right person will be calm, reliable and emotionally intelligent, able to offer gentle encouragement when needed and create a positive, reassuring environment. Experience supporting older people and those living with memory loss would be highly valued.

Our priority is finding someone who will treat Linda with the same care, patience and respect that they would want for a member of their own family.

Key responsibilities may include:

• Providing companionship and social interaction
• Supporting with personal care where required
• Assisting with meals, hydration and medication reminders
• Accompanying Linda on short walks or outings if appropriate
• Light household duties to maintain a comfortable environment
• Monitoring well-being and communicating any concerns to the family
• Helping maintain routines that promote comfort, confidence and independence

What we are looking for:

• A caring and compassionate nature
• Experience supporting older adults, ideally including dementia care
• Reliability, patience and a positive outlook
• Excellent communication skills
• A respectful and dignified approach to care
• A valid driving licence would be advantageous

This role would suit someone who genuinely enjoys spending time with older people and understands the difference that kindness, patience and companionship can make to someone’s quality of life.

Location: Great Bentley, Essex
Hours: Flexible and can be discussed with the right candidate
Pay: Competitive and dependent on experience
