Job Description

Interesting position working as a live-in carer in Sudbury, Suffolk (with good rail links to London) for a professional woman who is a writer, broadcaster, and lecturer with multiple disability (Cerebral Palsy Quadriplegia and total blindness). The client uses an overhead track hoist and is a permanent wheelchair user.  The position has good work ethics toward its carers, paying a total of £1,264.34 per seven-day week. The salary will be paid on a monthly basis on a PAYE structure with all the usual benefits associated with an employee position. This position is not suitable for self-employment.

You must be able to drive the client's car to any place that the client requests, including London. It would be desirable, although not essential, if you had an interest in the arts with particular emphasis on classical music. With a genuine desire to help the client lead as normal a life as possible, you will help the client with socialization, going to restaurants and other places of interest. You may also be required to accompany the client and the client's PA for work issues, lectures, or socialization.

As well as having experience in all aspects of personal care, you must have a good personality, be well-presented, and enjoy engaging with others. You will be required to possess a good knowledge of cooking and be able to keep the home to the existing high standards.

This position is open to both male and female applicants who would also enjoy the company of dogs of friends that visit occasionally.
