LIVE-IN CARE WORKER  

JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Nest Homecare is an independent Homecare Provider who specialise in professional, quality, independent Homecare and support to clients in their own homes in Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Surrey

and the surrounding areas.

We are not a franchise and are fully regulated and rated as GOOD by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

As a Live-in Care Worker you will be living with one of your clients on a full-time basis and for contunituity of care, we are looking for live-in Care Workers for a couple in Datchet, Berkshire. You will work for periods either one week on / one week off or 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off. This is a permanent rotation so commitment long-term is essential.

Your role is to provide the support that the client needs, whenever they need it. This may be helping them get washed, dressed, to the toilet, with food, medication and companionship, helping them with shopping and getting out and about. You will eat with them, as well as sleep in their home.

 

About the role:

  • To provide home care to clients in their own homes in-line with Nest Homecare policies and procedures.
  • To promote client’s rights, choice, independence, individuality, privacy and dignity.
  • To treat clients with respect and keep them safe.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. To provide quality care to clients as outlined in the Care Plan and in accordance with instructions from Care Coordinator and/or Care Manager. This includes personal care and domestic tasks.
  2. To monitor and report changes in client’s condition.
  3. To keep clear and accurate records in client’s homes.
  4. To feedback all relevant information.
  5. To communicate effectively with clients, their families and colleagues, liaising with other Care professionals as directed by your Manager.
  6. To participate in training and supervision sessions and attend team meetings.
  7. To undertake any other tasks as directed by your Manager.

  4. Ensuring proper reporting and escalation of issues.

Skills & Experience:

  1. 2-3 years experience in home care or care home environment. Experience of people living with dementia or mentla health is an advantage.
  2. Good communication skills with an empathetic and caring attitude with the ability to maintain client confidentiality.
  3. Excellent English-speaking. Punjabi-speaking is an advantag,
