Job Description
Live-in Care Assistant
We are looking for experienced, caring and reliable Live-in Care Assistants who are passionate about providing high-quality, person-centred care.
Each placement is different, and the responsibilities and level of support required will vary depending on the individual client's needs, care plan, preferences and circumstances. You should therefore be comfortable adapting your approach and providing support across a range of care and household tasks.
The ideal candidate will be compassionate, responsible and confident working independently, while helping to maintain a comfortable, safe and well-organised home.
Key Responsibilities
Depending on the client's individual needs, responsibilities may include:
- Providing respectful, compassionate and person-centred care.
- Supporting with food, meal preparation, eating and hydration.
- Supporting with medication, in accordance with the care plan and agreed procedures.
- Assisting with mobility, transfers and positioning, where required.
- Providing companionship and encouraging social activities, hobbies, outings and appointments.
- Supporting independence, dignity and choice in everyday life.
- Carrying out light household duties, including cleaning, laundry, changing bed linen, shopping and general tidying.
- Helping to keep the home clean, comfortable, organised and well maintained.
- Monitoring wellbeing and reporting any changes or concerns appropriately.
- Communicating effectively with the individual, family members and the wider care team.
- Maintaining accurate care records and following care plans and company procedures.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Genuinely caring, compassionate and trustworthy.
- Experienced in professional care, with live-in care experience highly desirable.
- Able to work independently and use initiative.
- Organised and confident managing both care needs and day-to-day household routines.
- Patient, reliable and adaptable to different clients and situations.
- A good communicator who builds positive relationships.
- Professional and respectful of the individual's home, privacy and dignity.
- Fluent in spoken and written English.
Driving
A full UK driving licence and access to a car are desirable but not essential, as this will depend on the requirements of each placement.
If you are an experienced carer who takes pride in providing excellent care, companionship and a well-managed home, we would love to hear from you.
