Duties involved

Our client is a couple R & D based in Titchfield who have been married for over 60 years and have 2 children who work in the health sector. Both R & D have a love of animals and the outdoors.

The primary client is R she was diagnosed with Dementia in July 2023 after her husband D noticed some changes in her behaviour. Since March 2024 R has had a decline in her mobility and now has downstairs living, with a wheeled commode which she does use to mobilise when feeling unsteady but we are working to encourage more use of her frame instead. R also has a high-riser toilet seat and bed rails to support her.

R requires support with all aspects of daily living, daily personal care, medication support, nutrition, and hydration, along with assistance with the daily running of the home, with household chores and assisting to be as independent as possible.

The support we offer D is more emotional, D struggles with the changes in his wife due to her Dementia. Our support enables D to have respite to do activities he has neglected due to the ongoing support he has been providing R over the past year.

As the Live-in Care Professional for these clients, you will start by building up good relationships with both R & D whilst implementing a new routine that will support both their needs. A daily snapshot of how your day will look will include the following: light cleaning, laundry, shopping, medication assistance, meal preparation, personal care, companionship, encouraging social activities, supporting and transporting to appointments.
