Holland Park, Kensington, London. Live in carer, driver & companion position. Double bedroom with private bathroom in large mansion flat 60 yards from entrance to Holland Park and close to Kensington High Street. Our father (79 years old) has had three doses of heart surgery in the past three years during which time our mother passed away quite suddenly. He is fiercely independent and determined not to live in a nursing home, however he is lonely and needs help with taking his medication, cooking, shopping, , laundry and general household tasks. He has a cleaner. He can walk but struggles to go further than 1/4 a mile or so in one go, and is vulnerable even to simple ailments. He has been living alone but now needs some care to improve his quality of life. He enjoys reading and does not need constant company or supervision (in fact he complains if followed around!) however he would like some company at meals and help around the flat and making excursions. He is often at his children’s (Berkshire & Wiltshire) at weekends and so would require driving services at the weekend; the position is full time but will require a flexible approach to which 2 days off a week.  We would hope that the right person will get him more involved in outside activities and possibly some local senior clubs. Personal fit is paramount. The role would include accommodation, all utilities, food (not alcohol) and valid expenses. The flat has wifi which can be used (not streaming) and mobile would not be included unless making calls on our father's behalf. Salary would be negotiable and references will be important. Immediate start ideal. The likely best fit candidate would be in good health but mature and probably 50+.
