Job Description

Female Carer required please. Driver preferably. Hoisting required.

Live in care required for lady with Multiple Sclerosis in Mere BA12.  

She has very stiff limbs with spastic tendencies and no movement from the chest down.

She is in an Electric wheelchair using a ceiling hoist for bed-bathroom-chair 90% and Oxford mini for living room chair (rarely) in a house adjusted for disabled living.

A hands on position - carer will need a sense of humour, stamina and no bad backs.  

The morning routine takes 2 to 2.5 hours and includes standard mobility exercises, showering, dressing, toileting every 3rd day with water irrigation system.  

There is time off in the afternoon followed by making the evening meal for 6pm.

The job is 7am-10pm: the day consists 7-8 hours actual working time with a break of 2 hours & other rests in between tasks. 

She enjoys gardening, art, reading, current affairs, alternative therapies, languages and travel, plus eating delicious food and she likes to be active.

She would prefer a driver with a full driving licence as she has a wheelchair accessible car.
