Job Description

Opportunity for a full-time live-out care supporter in Chalfont Lodge Care Home in Buckinghamshire,

This role mainly requires a strong focus on companionship and activities, no personal care involved. Personal care is provided by the nursing staff at the care home.

About the patient:
The patient is dysarthric. He shows a good understanding of simple and two stage commands, giving appropriate responses to questions asked. Where he struggles to express himself, he can respond to questions appropriately with ‘yes’ ‘no’ ‘true’ ‘false’. He is very intelligent but struggles to communicate. He can get depressed but likes going out on trips with the support workers.

He has problems swallowing. Training will be provided by Speech and Language team/nurses in care home. No issues with appetite.

The role is for 35 hours a week over 5 - 6 days a week at £15 an hour. The patient is staying at the Chalfont Lodge Care Home.
