Job Description

We are looking for both part-time & full-time community-based carers to work across East Sussex, specifically Eastbourne, Hailsham, Seaford, Hastings and Rother localities.

DAILY RATES BETWEEN £165 - £210

You are needed to provide safe and life-enriching care and support to clients wishing to remain in their own homes. Community carers who are willing to go above and beyond, sensitive as well as understanding and professional at all times are sought for this opportunity.

Ideally, you will have similar community care experience/homecare experience, with excellent communication skills and will be supporting clients with a variety of tasks, some of which may include:

• Meal prep, morning/bedtime routines.
• Assisting with bathing/washing
• Assist with dressing & undressing.
• Administering medication
• Light housework, laundry, ironing
• Collecting prescriptions/light shopping

As well as providing personal care & support you will also be providing companionship to those in need, potentially being the only person that they may see that day which makes this role even more important.

The hours of work are 8 am-10 pm with both weekday & weekend work available. You will be paid a daily rate for which you will be available during these hours and will be rostered up to 10.5 hours of care calls, the rest of the time being for travel and breaks. You will receive the daily rate regardless of whether there are visits taking up the 10.5hrs as we appreciate that this is your time, and you need to be able to rely on being paid for the day.

The service is to provide morning, lunch, tea & bed calls across a rota which typically consists of a mix of single and double handed care calls, potentially 6 service users having 3 calls per day each. This can of course vary with the number of service users/calls they have each.

Rates vary depending on when you work and whether you are PAYE or paid via an Umbrella company and range between £165-£210 per day (inc Bank Holidays. We also pay capped mileage and provide PPE to protect both you and the people you support.

You will need transport for this role and although we will try to limit your travel, you will be required to travel within the local area as part of the role. 

We are an agency, and this is a project we are working on with a client to support individuals needing help upon coming home from the hospital, to avoid a hospital stay or to bridge the gap between them being allocated a long-term care provider.

To join the agency and work on this project you will need to complete compliance and training (existing training certificates and DBS on the update service are accepted) and this will then open up other opportunities to you also.

It’s important to recognise that working with an agency does not guarantee ongoing work however flexibility and hard work is recognised, and we will prioritise you for roles/projects.
