Job Description

24 Hour care / Live in Position - For a Male Carer Only Please.

2 weeks on duty & 2 weeks off duty. - Starting for July 2023

£1500.00 PCM - Includes Food & Accommodation / Fortnightly Pay (BACS)

£50.00 Per Month Travel Allowance.

This is a Job Share, 50:50 Split between Two carers, as above, 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off.

8am Start - 9pm (Roughly) finish - On Duty with client.

2 Hour break - Between Hours of 3pm – 6pm

Daughter, Jo, lives at the property, so I will cover the agreed 2 hour break each day.

The Client is female, 99 Y.O - Very Independent, has her daily routine / schedule for her days (Meals).

Fully continent, but wears Pull Up Underwear, for just encase moments, which are very rare and infrequent at current time.

Mobility is very good, mobilises with the assistance of her frame, to be available at all times. May need to use wheelchair to during the later part of the afternoon / evening, when she is more tired.

Partial Assistance with personal care - Carer needs to be around to assist (On Hand) but not required to do much as client will wash her self in the shower, teeth, face, brushes her own hair, make up etc. But requires assistance to wash back, feet and wipe her bottom, as this is a struggle for her.

Has a daily walk in her wheelchair, in the village with carer to push wheelchair.

Frame on hand at all times, as promoting her independence is of the upmost importance.

Night time - After being settled, Client will look after herself at night. She has a commode next to her bed, that she will mobilise to and from, frame to be within reach of commode and bed.

Has a Monitor System In Place for night times, will ask for help if needed, to be on at all times, currently does not call for assistance as she manages her Night-time needs herself. Sleeps very soundly after being settled. from Roughly 9pm – 8am.

All details to be confirmed - Full handover expected at the start and finish of each two weeks when handing over to the Carer already in situ.

Open communication and sharing of concerns important between carer in placement and myself. Also existing carer will remain as the Lead carer for support and guidance when needed on client, routine and care plan / building.

Looking for a professional, male carer only with care experience, references, Right to work, DBS, Care Certificate, Manual Handling, Safe-Guarding training and insurance ideally.

Someone who is genuinely caring, patient, thick skinned and able to have a laugh and talk to client, to make her feel she has agency and interest in her own life, and safe and comfortable at her home of 45 years.
