LIVE-IN CARE WORK – ACCOMMODATION PROVIDED FULL-TIME

Independent Living Alternatives (ILA) is a social enterprise established in 1989 that enables disabled people to live independently. Many disabled people want self-control over their own lives and hire personal assistants to support this. ILA currently has vacancies for live-in care workers in London.

ILA believes that everyone should be in control of when they get up and go to bed; what they eat; where they go; when they go out and when they come home; every decision and choice is up to the disabled person-needing assistance does not mean losing control and independence. We believe that everyone has a right to live independently and to have control over their own life.

The role of a Personal Assistant (PA) is an extremely varied and interesting one. You will provide personal care ie getting dressed, having a bath, going to the loo and practical assistance with housework, shopping, cooking, etc. You will also assist the disabled person with anything that they want or need during the day ie going to the cinema, attending appointments, visiting friends and family, and so on.

You will receive a minimum salary of £1.000 per week worked (you are welcome to work overtime) plus holiday pay, pension and the opportunity for overtime as well as your DBS. You don’t need any experience to work as a Personal Assistant with Independent Living Alternatives, just an open mind and a willingness to learn new things. ILA will provide full training for every person you work with.
