Job Description

Hello, I am looking for a live-in carer for my father who is in his eighties and has bad dementia. My mother also lives with him, but she needs help, chiefly getting him up, bathing and washing and putting him to bed, but also just chatting/cooking him lunch/watching TV with him, on afternoons when my mother would like to go out. My father cannot be left alone. You will need to have experience with dementia sufferers as well as NVQ qualifications. You will need to be strong, responsible, patient, good natured and, above all things, kind. But in return you will find that my mother is all those things. You will have a lot of free time for yourself and my mother is prepared to be very flexible. My parents live in a friendly and pretty village on the borders of Wiltshire and Gloucestershire. You would have your own bedroom and sitting room at the top of the house. But the kitchen would be shared. You can bring a dog if you wish. A car would be important since it is a rural. Pay can be discussed. Holidays also can be talked about. It would be good, if the arrangement proved happy for all parties, if you could look at this as a long term appointment.
