We are now recruiting for a full time Live in Carer to support the care of a young male with a spinal cord injury based in Cheltenham. The duties would include the following and the work pattern would be 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off.

As a Live-In Carer you will live in the customers home and support their daily living, meeting their personal care and support needs in a way that respects the dignity of the individual and promotes their independence, and helps them live their life to the fullest. The care and support provided by a Live-In Carer is expected to include support that would reasonably be given by members of the customer's family and is not to include tasks that would normally be undertaken by a trained nurse.

Your role would include helping clients with tasks such as:

• Shopping & meal preparation
• Prompt/administer medication
• Support with daily routines
• Socialising and leisure activities
• Helping access the community
• Domestic - cleaning and laundry
• Personal care/ catheter care

You as a person, need to be self-motivated and well-organised, caring and sensitive to the needs of others, flexible with the ability to use your own initiative and have the ability to communicate very well in English. You will be on the DBS update service or willing to undergo a DBS check. You will be able to provide evidence of at least your first COVID-19 vaccination, or all 3. Previous experience within the care industry is essential and previous experience as a live-in carer is preferable. Experience with spinal cord injuries would also be advantageous. Above all else, to be successful in this role you will possess a kind nature, with a real desire to make a difference in someone’s life.
