Hours of work and Benefits:

  • Salary – £19,000 per annum, based on working / being available to work 21 days per month, this can be worked over more than one assignment. You will work on average ten hours a day
  • Salary is after deducting the ‘governments accommodation” offset of £7 per day
  • Overtime available for any additional days worked over and above 21 days
  • Opportunity to do additional standby days
  • Annual Leave – 20 days plus Bank Holidays. You will be expected to work some Bank Holidays. You will either get time off in lieu or paid the enhanced BH rates

What is essential for the role?

  • Previous care experience desirable but not essential
  • Full driving licence
  • Confident, friendly and reliable
  • High standard of personal cleanliness and presentation
  • Committed, organised and efficient
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Successful completion of our in-house induction training
  • Excellent time keeping

 

What does the role involve?

  • Assisting with Personal Care, including skin care, bathing, shaving, oral care, toileting (including management of bladder & bowels), dressing, hair care
  • Enabling mobility, including Moving & Handling transfers, pushing wheelchair, checking of specialist equipment e.g. wheelchair seat cushion, driving of Client’s vehicle, as directed (if applicable)
  • Dietetics, including assistance with menu planning, preparing, serving and storing of foods.
  • Assist client to fulfil activities of daily living e.g. working, leisure, and education
  • Assist with medications as prescribed by medical team
  • Dealing with correspondence & financial matters as requested
  • Day to day household tasks e.g. changing beds, laundry, ironing, shopping
  • Respect for client confidentiality and discretion at all times
  • Negotiate downtime with client to ensure that these are agreed and mutually suitable, whilst monitoring working hours which should not exceed an average of 10 hours in a 24-hour period
  • Reporting & Recording as per company procedure, including any changes to your client’s care needs.
  • Commitment for identifying and fulfilling on-going personal development within Active Assistance
  • Adhering to company policies and procedures at all times
