Job Description

This placement is for a lady who lives in the Petersfield Area in Hampshire. We need a lady who can do three to four months at a time. The client has Atrial Fibrillation, and she had a pacemaker fitted in 2023. She has Macular degeneration and has eye injections every 3 – 4 months. She has Osteoarthritis of the knees and suffers from Dementia and Anxiety. She also suffers from very itchy skin; she wears gloves during the day to stop her scratching and has creams applied to help with relief. She is a very polite lady who would benefit from a kind and patient carer.

The carer must be fluent in English

The client isn't an early riser and likes to be woken gently at 9 am with a cup of coffee. She needs to be encouraged to get up for her shower at 10 am.

She likes to dress as smartly as possible & have her hair dried & styled in the mornings, this has always been important for her & it makes a big difference to her emotional state. It takes just a couple of minutes using her heated styling brush.

Once she is ready to go downstairs, she has her breakfast in her chair, as she does all her meals. Breakfast is late, around 10.45/11.00, with a light lunch around 13.00. The client prefers her evening meal to be her main meal of the day, eaten around 18.00 – 18.30. The client does not have a big appetite but does enjoy a small, good home-cooked meal.

She enjoys reading the newspaper, which the carer will get from the shop, which is a couple of minutes' walk from the client's house. The Client watches quite a lot of TV and enjoys chatting.

She sometimes likes a lie down on the sofa if she feels tired or a bit dizzy.

The Client usually goes to bed around 20.30
