Job Description

If you are kind, compassionate and have a passion for caring for people and want to put your skills to use within the health and social care industry, then becoming a live-in carer is the job for you.

As a Live-In Carer with Home Instead, you will live in a client’s home and provide support, personal care and companionship to those who need it most, helping them stay independent and happy within their own home.

Whilst this is a rewarding role, it can be challenging at times, so it requires someone with initiative, passion, commitment and a can-do attitude.

As a live-in care giver, you will provide the highest standard of round the clock care to help the client feel safe and supported.

Expectations

• You will be the number one point of contact for the client, to help with any needs they have, following a dedicated care plan and helping them reach their care goals.
• You will manage the client’s medical condition, organise their meals, assist with their hygiene and above all, maintain their safety and security at all times.
• Build a relationship with the client, ensuring that they feel supported and cared for, whilst remaining independent within their own home.
• Having a knowledge of Dementia and Alzheimer’s care is desired but not a necessity.

Some of your duties as Live-in Care Caregiver

• Supporting and assisting with all personal care requirements,
• Providing companionship and supportive listening,
• Preparing meals,
• Responding to emergency situations,
• Prompting and administering medication,
• Accompanying and transporting patients to appointments and/or social events,
• Facilitating community and recreational outings,
• Providing support with hobbies, studies, and social activities
