Job Description

We are looking for Live in carers to work within South Oxfordshire. The role of the live-in carer will be to assist with personal care, meals, medication, shopping and escorting the customer outside of the home if the customer is able to. Assist with errands and to accompany whilst socialising  . It is also important that the live in carer can offer companionship through conversation and activities such as board games, bridge, chess, etc and create a pleasant and uplifting  atomshpere within the customers home.  

Summary of live-in care position
To support each customer to remain living in their own homes for as long as they require andif needed. To provide each customer with a high quality of care, that is respectful, dignified and encourages independence whilst adhering to the customers care and support plan.  Document and report all relevant customer care information.

General information
Live-in care workers provide support and encouragement that empowers the customer to lead an independent lifestyle. As the live-in care worker resides in the customer’s home it is important that the care worker recognise the importance of respecting the customer’s right to make choices and maintaining privacy.  Live-in care workers are there to assist the customer in maintaining their lifestyle in a safe and secure manner.

The live-in care worker is not on duty 24 hours a day and is afforded time off when their services are not required. This is normally in the afternoon but may vary according to the customer’s needs. You will be supported by a Live -in Care Manager to assist and support you. Care Certificate workbooks can be completed whilst in placement.

- Advanced spoken and written English

- Car and full driving licence

- Ability to converse on many subjects

- Self-motivated

- Flexible approach

- Willingness to undertake the companies policies and procedures

- Ability to act quickly in an emergency

- Clear understanding of good quality

- Clear police check relevant to country of residence

- Ability to reside in customer home for extended periods

- Ability to manage the home

- Ability to cook a variety of foods
