We are seeking new live in carers to join our leading home care team for the elderly in Yorkshire. The role includes assisting clients with basic help in the home, companionship and personal care, and requires you to reside in the client’s home on a 24-hour basis.

Essential

* Warm, patient and compassionate with a clear desire to support others

* Enthusiastic and positive ‘can do’ attitude

* Ability to obtain, receive, read and complete written records and forms

* Literate and numerate and ability to read, write and speak English

* Good communication skills

* Ability to understand clients’ needs and respond appropriately

* Agreement to undertake Level 2 Health and Social Care Diploma (or equivalent)

* Ability to reside in a client’s home for extended periods (minimum of 1 week)

* Ability to drive

Preferred

* Level 2 Health and Social Care Diploma (or equivalent)

* Experience of working within a care setting

* Experience of caring for a person with dementia or a long-term illness
